The Station
StarFM was originally known as RoxFM and commenced broadcasting on the frequency 105.1 on New Years Eve in 1993. A second frequency 102.3 to cater for our southern audience from Port to Taree was launched on August 26, 1994 and finally the official name change to StarFM was achieved on August 27 in 1999.
StarFM today is a music based station with its market focus on the 25 to 39 age group followed by the 10 to 24 year old bracket. Star FM has two frequencies on the FM band with 102.3 focusing on the southern region from Port to Taree and 105.1 is for the northern part of our market Kempsey to Coffs Harbour.
